With the explorer hat....

This week I made a lot of new friends, struck up conversations without even asking people's names, and discovered some intriguing information. I picked up information about technology, a side business, and corporate culture from those interactions.

One of my friends randomly invited me to coffee one afternoon. I never extend an invitation for coffee. I decided to take on these traits from her. I thought that living in a hostel lacked privacy. I later realized that I was mistaken and that everyone has a personal space, regardless of where they reside. It is important to enjoy our own company before socializing.  My roommate showed me the taste of living life like there is no tomorrow. I am fortunate to live with wonderful people.

I went shopping on the streets of Charminar this past weekend with some buddies. I visited Charminar quite sometimes but never did the street shopping. I live a long way from Charminar, so we took the metro and other forms of public transportation. Everyone is new to each other. Most of us moved out of our homes for the first time so we could resonate well.

I heard that bargaining is the key to street shopping. I'm terrible at that, but I attempted to use it to test my abilities. People of our generation are too ashamed to bargain. I formerly believed that bargaining is not a wise course of action. I came to understand that haggling for the best deal is perfectly acceptable. I saved money for my friends while implementing this new talent of mine.

Charminar is famous for bangles, biriyani, paya with roti, mulberry malai, tandoori chai, Irani chai, earrings, sandals, handmade chocolates, bags and other fashion products. My friends wanted to see the view from Charminar. We walked through a narrow path which felt like walking in a tunnel. We could barely breathe along the way. It is a beautiful structure with a rush surrounding it. The only thought in my mind while I am on top of Charminar is- "How can I escape if there is an attack?". Of course, I am weird.

I visited the temple next to the Charminar. I did find it enjoyable throughout. On the way back, we reserved a taxi. Along the way, we sang and made silly jokes. For dinner, we went to a restaurant. It was nirvana for me to eat a brownie with ice cream. I had the best weekend ever with my wonderful friends.
