Cheers to every new experience ...
I was hesitant to write because my life isn't exciting lately. Even your darkest circumstances can teach you a lot. Not everything in life is rosy. So here's my tale.
I had a tough time in the month of July. My dad was hospitalized twice in that month due to different reasons. I was planning to purchase some presents for my loved ones as it was the same month that I earned my first full-time paycheck. I enjoyed spending time with my family during that week.
One morning my dad suddenly felt ill. We rushed to the hospital soon. I never had any experience in the past with hospitals. I got a lot of help from dad's well-wishers. Normally, I don't talk to people about the saddest things in my life, but my mother helped me to realize that, it is alright to be vulnerable. It is hard to see someone playing badminton one day and lying in hospital bed the other day. Luckily he discharged soon and that was a relief. I am grateful for all the support from my family and friends.
The important learning during this time is how to use the health insurances. The pressure of not being able to pay to the expenses might hurt a lot. Some of my friends faced such situations too. If you are not aware of them do find out or ask your parents about it. Me and dad had some discussions in the past regarding insurances, so we could act when needed.
I had no idea that the hospital industry was that huge. In addition to doctors, it employs at least 30 people to run a small-sized hospital. During this time, I learned about a CSR initiative carried out by a large corporation. They prepare young people from rural areas to work in hospitals in a variety of capacities. They give them free training and all necessities so they may work and support their families without any formal schooling.
During my visit to hospital I understood how hard doctors work and how they give best to the patient. I observed them working through the night with out sleep. I saw how they take injections for themselves because of health issues they face from working in odd work hours. I learnt the value of life and the simplicity one needs. I worship their sacrifice and courage.
You cannot imagine how grateful you should be to be able to walk, talk, breathe and bath. If you are not, visit a hospital once and I am sure you will get a new perspective.
Tomorrow is a new day with new challenges....keep fighting.
Nice..😀
